How the plan is built
Stowfit fills the container in walls, from the front wall toward the door, the way a crew loads by hand. For many cartons of one size it first works out the best cross-section pattern for each way the carton can stand, then combines those walls along the length. Mixed loads go through a search that tries many item orders and keeps the plan that loads the most volume in the shortest length. Every box rests on the floor or on at least 75% of its base, and nothing goes on items marked as not stackable.

How does the container loading calculator work?
Enter the size, weight and quantity of each item and pick a container or truck. Stowfit searches many arrangements in your browser, keeps the one that loads the most volume, and orders the boxes so they can be loaded wall by wall from the front of the container to the door.
Does it respect "this side up" and fragile items?
Yes. Each item can be set to any side down, this side up (it may still turn on the floor), or fixed as entered. You can mark items that must not carry anything on top, set a maximum load on top in kilograms or pounds, and keep heavy items on the floor.
Does it check the payload and the door opening?
Yes. The plan stops at the payload limit of the container or truck and rejects items that cannot pass through the door. It also reports the centre of gravity so you can see if the load leans toward the front or the door.
